Message from the Tourism Minister

Since becoming Minister responsible for Tourism, I have seen a real determination, a passion and a fantastic drive to deliver the significant improvements needed to meet our ambitious target of 50% tourism revenue growth by 2015. From the owners of small rural B&Bs right through to the head of Scotland’s national tourism agency, everyone is united in a collective determination to do better than ever before, to constantly innovate and improve. That gives me real confidence.

The Scottish Government and the Scottish tourism industry are united in a joint effort to maximise our immense opportunities to the full. Together, we can all ensure that Scotland continues to be one of the “must visit” countries in the world.  This website belongs to everyone involved in developing tourism and I hope you find it useful.  I encourage all of you to play your part in Scotland’s tourism future.
