Welcome to the Tourism Framework for Change (TFFC) website

Tourism is one of Scotland's key industries with revenues of around £4.2 billion in 2005-06 and employing some 200,000 people across the wide spectrum of about 20,000 tourism-related businesses.

In March 2006 the Scottish Executive published Scottish Tourism: The Next Decade - a Framework for Change (commonly referred to as the Tourism Framework for Change) - a copy of which can be accessed here TFFC Strategy document This strategy sets out what we need to do to meet the shared ambition of growing tourism revenue by 50% by 2015. It is an ambitious - but achievable - target which will only be met if we all work together. Increasingly in today's global market, especially in the developed world, more people have more spare time and disposable income, and many wish to use this to travel, try different experiences etc. This, along with Scotland's wide variety of beautiful natural heritage and scenery, interesting urban centres and friendly people and culture, combine to create a huge potential for us to compete with other destinations across the world.

Please take the time to browse through the rest of this website and find out what is happening to help Scottish tourism businesses meet this ambitious target.
