Welcome to the Corporate Scotland and Infrastructure pages!

Our ambition for Scotland is to grow tourism revenues by 50% by 2015 – a tough target particularly in today’s economic climate!

To unlock Scotland’s true potential we need new legislation to be supportive to our sector and the aim of this group is to liaise between the tourism industry and Government Departments. This will ensure that policies and legislation relating to Scotland’s infrastructure take into account the needs of the tourism industry as one of the key economic drivers for Scotland. Some of this activity is carried out through the Scottish Tourist Forum and its membership but we want to hear from all parts of the industry and particularly to encourage individual businesses to tell us what they think. So far, we have looked at the impacts of fire safety (Scotland) regulations 2006, the licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 on Scotland’s accommodation and eating establishments and how we can influence the implementation of these laws.

We are also feeding in to consultation on new Planning Regulations relating to tourist developments. The public transport infrastructure is also an area the group will focus on in future. These pages highlight what we are doing to achieve all this. But we cannot do it on our own – we need your help and input. Please participate in this work by using this website and taking part in the discussion forum at tffc@stf.co.uk
